Hello! ReplyI recently bought a SE-506BB Blu-Ray Writer with Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 that should be capable of playing Blu-Rays (even in 3D). Unfortunately, when I insert Blu-Ray Disc ('The Hentai Prince and the stony cat vol. 1') and run PowerDVD it 'loads' disc up to ~40% and then does nothing. When I click play button and then 'resume', it loads up to 99% and then reports an Internal Error and asks to contact with support. What should I do to play Blu-Ray discs? I have attached two images to this post. there are indeed two serial numbers, however I believe the first one is for the CyberLink Media Suite and the other one for the PowerDVD software. Please advise how I am able to play my BluRay movies on this software. Thanks in advance, Apu

I have the same slim blu ray player and it works well on my computer and monitor. Does your have one or two USb plugs (older style)? ReplyHow is the computer connected to the monitor? What blu ray discs are you trying to play -- commercial or home made? Are you using a USB port on the back of your computer? The ones in the front and those on a hub will not work properly. If you have a laptop, just worry about not using a hub. . . BoilerPlate: To posters who ask for help -- it is nice to thank the volunteers who try to answer your questions ! I have the drive connected to my laptop and I have tried all available USB connections. The drive as a hardware works fine, i just cannot get my commercial movies played on the laptop so I am guessing it is a software matter. I hope CyberLink will come up with something I can do in order to get the drive to play my movies... stevekSenior ContributorPrivate MessageLocation: Houston, Texas USAJoined: Jan 25, 2011 12:18Messages: 4662Offline Jan 05, 2014 10:55Quote:Hi, I hope CyberLink will come up with something I can do in order to get the drive to play my movies... I doubt it because they have moved on to PowerDVD 13. Did you run the BR checker? What does it say? http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/bd-support/enu/index.jsp Is your PowerDVD 10 up to date? For that matter, is the firmware for your burner up to date ? Go to the manufacturer's web site and search for the firmware for that burner. . . Reply Apu9mmNewbie Private MessageJoined: Dec 30, 2013 05:59Messages: 9Offline Jan 06, 2014 06:32 Hi stevek, ReplyI will run the CyberLink check when I get home, thanks for the tip. I checked the drives firmware and it is up to date, no problems there. And even if CyberLink moved to a new version it would be a shame if they bundle their older software with hardware which is clearly also used for the poruse of watching BluRay movies. Not supporting BluRay movies on a BluRay drive is somehow inadequate. However, one can argue that the fault lies with the hardware ventor, in this case Samsung. Either way, sadly the customer has to pay... stevekSenior ContributorPrivate MessageLocation: Houston, Texas USAJoined: Jan 25, 2011 12:18Messages: 4662Offline Jan 06, 2014 07:22 Unfortunately no one knows when that drive was manufactured and boxed. It could have been a year or so old. ReplySamsung also pays a fee for the use of the software so they may not want to negotiate a new version contract. . . Please uninstall PDVD 10 (the bündle Version from Samsung) and re-install from the disc you received with your drive) Ensure your PC is connected to the Internet and start PowerDVD - there should be an patch offer in the about box and/or Pop up in the left Corner of your Desktop. Only install the patch offered within the Application not the one for retail Version that is offered on the patch page! thx Michael Technical Support Werde Facebook Fan Apu9mmNewbie Private MessageJoined: Dec 30, 2013 05:59Messages: 9Offline Jan 06, 2014 07:56 Obviously Samsung pays a few in order to include the CyberLink software as OEM in their bundle. And this is where Samsung is to blame: they did not include a software that allows the customer to fully use their hardware for the inteded use. Hi Michael, ![]() thank you for your response. Initially I did exactly that. However, the download speed was so painstrikingly (ca. 10kb/s) slow that I aborted the download and searched the web for an alternative patch to download faster. Apparently I found this retail patch that you describe. I will however follow your advice, uninstall, reinstall and patch from within the program again, hoping that this time the download speed might be a bit higher. If not, I will report back in about a week This message was edited 1 time. I would reasonably expect it to be plug and play and should not have the need to try and sort out provided software... ReplyIn short I would not reccomend it to anyone and it appears that the 'Issue' is one of the software provider trying to get the user to buy an upgrade from their web site.. As a customer this does NOTHING to make/persuade me to buy something extra that should have worked out of the box as advertised. I would suggest that there is a real oppertunity to get trading standards to sort the issue out at the makers expence... I should be able to plug the unit into my PC/Laptop and put a bluray init and watch it without the need to go on line and spend 30-40 mins trying to get the bloody thing working !! 0 out of 10.... wont buy anything from this makers line up again... ![]() |
